  • Update 04/06/2013
As you will undoubtedly have noticed the site is a little sparse.
This is to allow for an improved look so please be patient.
Also, while I am on the subject of the website, we will be moving because of the high cost of running this particular site.
It is un clear at the moment if the web address will remain the same, however it will be close to what we have now. Once a new provider is identified,
I will run the new and old in conjunction with one and other for one month (August) so you get use to former.

  • Update 04/06/2013
It has been an upside down week for FELCC. As you know I like transparency and I will now attempt to inform you of changes and how we arrived at them.
I was already aware of Ron G7ZRT and Steve 2E0STF wishes to stand down from the committee. However, Ron is going to continue with the Projects page as it is something he enjoys...I would like to thank Ron and Steve for there contribution to FELCC over the years.
I also decided to step away from the Chair position in to a lesser role. Firstly, to allow someone else to drive the club with new ideas and direction. Sorry I was all out of both. Secondly to enjoy the club to which all of you and I had help build. Thirdly for private reasons.
This seemed to have a snowball effect with Pete 2E0MID, Jess M0MVR and Ian 2E0XOD also stepping down. Again, I would like to thank Pete and Jess for there contribution to the committee and club. More so to Ian 2E0XOD who has been relentless in the pursute of publicity for the club. Ian has done a great job and he will be a
hard act to follow. Thank you

Information & Club News

  • We now had problem and a question. Who would be good in the Chair? We went through everyone, once if not twice and thrice, it seemed without exception, all were too busy working, doing other things or they felt age/health was against them.
I think you would agree, a club cannot run without a Chair, or at the very least a Vice Chair and we had none.

I/we had a dilemma. So With this in mind and no clear candidates prepared to except the role, I had no option to table a motion to close the club. This was not received very well, but again, no one would step up to the mark. Eventually it was seconded and a vote was produced in favour, all be it reluctantly. Let me state now, I took absolutely no delight in tabling this motion, quite the opposite.
Then came a little ray of hope, which exploded into a blazing ray of light. The top and bottom was Margret G1RAE, agreed to step in to the post of Chair with the proviso I was Vice Chair which was agreed and providing I get voted on to the post of course.

I take nothing for granted. I would like to personally thank Margret G1RAE for this opportunity of continuing the club and I take great delight in nominating her for the position of Chair. Unfortunately Margret G1RAE will not be at the meeting of June 4th as she is flying of to warmer climate so the standing will be proxy.
    The club goes on.
The committee standing for the year 2013/14 reads as follows, and again assuming we are voted in and without challenges.

    1.    Chairperson – Margret G1RAE
    2.    VC/Website/Equipment - Bren 2E0BDS
    3.    Secretary – Dennis M1E0G
    4.    Treasure – Gordon G7HZS
    5.    Training – Colin M0EAO
    6.    Training – Duncan M0HIS
    7.    QSL/Events – Chris M0MFP
